A hot chocolate for a cold day

Bratislava, Slovakia — November 2023

This unassuming snapshot is from a small cafe in Bratislava called Sweet Beans Coffee Roastery. My wife and I stopped in on a cold, rainy day in mid-November 2023 seeking a hot drink and a warm place to lounge while waiting for a food tour to start that afternoon. Nice little place with locals chatting, free Wi-Fi, and the chocolate was probably the thickest I’ve ever had. It was the espresso of hot chocolates—perhaps my favorite since I discovered spicy Mexican hot chocolate in Anchorage years ago.
