More photography than street

A Saturday walk got me trying some “street” photography. Only the streets aren’t so gritty round my way.

As I’ve been scanning more than 6,000 photos from the past 30+ years, I’ve run across a handful of times when I went out and tried my hand at street photography, using the nicest 35mm camera gear I had at the time. I liked some of the results. So I turned a weekend dog walk into an attempt to recapture that experience.

Only I don’t live on the mean streets of a bustling metropolis. So the results are decidedly suburban. Nonetheless, I had fun, and here are some of the results.

This one is all in the framing. I got it about 80% right in the camera, then did a little extra cropping to get it just right.
I’m pretty text-focused in my work, so seeing the “plus” signs of the empty pool lined up caught my eye. The warped stainless steel metal sheets were a plus.
His name is literally Bugsy. And he’s not as big and imposing as he looks here. HE’S A GOOD BOY.
This is as close as we get to police tape round our way. And my wife says I should wear this tape as a sash or a belt.
This assemblage made me think of the Billy Joel song “Famous Last Words”.
Trying out a little still life to round out the set.
